• Madonna – Girl Gone Wild. Madonna is imitating Madonna!

“I’m a bad girl anyway,” Madonna croons on the bridge to her second MDNA single “Girl Gone Wild.” And if the accompanying video is any indication, she’s right. Harkening back to the black-and-white mixture of eroticism and glamor in her iconic “Vogue” visual, the clip (directed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott) features the “Some Girls” diva and a cadre of comely shirtless gentlemen (some in high heels!) getting down with their bad selves (along with some Inception-style gravity defiance).

The monochromatic video pretty much combines all of the most iconic imagery from her previous videos; It’s part “Vogue,” part “Express Yourself” and part “Sex” — Madonna’s controversial 1992 coffee table book. Watch below.

Girl Gone Wild” is all about the heat of letting loose and dancing, certainly themes that Madge fans will find familiar. Produced by Benny Benassi, the track, though fun and funky, is a bit darker than her first single, which seemed to pay homage to the ’80s version of the pop icon in its bright nature.

Directed by Mert & Marcus. Post production by the incredible Flame and 3D guys & girls at Prime Focus. Grading and DCP by Duncan Russell. Sanity maintained and produced by Chris ‘Chops’ Chard. Tell us what’s on your mind in the comments below please!

  • DJ REED McGOWAN MIXSET 59:38

Reed McGowanWith over 50,000 records and CDs to my collection, my training has been vast and influential, with genres including house, disco, electro, tribal, circuit, classics, soul, funk, rock, new wave, alternative, trance, techno and so on. While many DJs & producers adhere to one “style”, I try to draw from an eclectic well of experience, and apply all that inspires me to create distinct moods. I never understood why some people feel as though ANY DJ or musician should be “boxed in” or pigeonholed…. I grew up in an culture of diversity, and so the music was always a changing force in my life. Every party, event & occasion is unique; each one demands an appropriate sound…. and with that, the redundancy and consistency of trends create a common thread which can tie the entire spectrum of sound together, and that’s what I strive for…. range, drive and flow. This may sound a bit complicated, but basically it’s about balance. And without diversity, balance just doesn’t exist!

  • WATCH Ad Makes Republican Case for Marriage Equality

During the Republican convention, a TV ad with San Diego’s mayor will highlight why the party should embrace marriage rights for same-sex couples.

San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders, a Republican and marriage equality supporter, appears in an ad for the marriage cause that will air in the Tampa, Fla., market during next week’s Republican National Convention.

“As a Republican, I believe in conservative values like responsibility and limited government,” Sanders says in the ad, titled “Family and Freedom,” a project of the Human Rights Campaign and Freedom to Marry. He makes a case for why Republicans should endorse marriage equality: “Marriage strengthens families, and we need more of that in this country, not less.”

Sanders, the father of a lesbian daughter and a chair of Mayors for the Freedom to Marry, also points to prominent Republicans who support marriage equality, including Dick and Lynne Cheney, Laura Bush, Ted Olson, and Cindy McCain.

The party has taken a stand against marriage rights for gay couples in its platform, to be ratified at the convention. However, LGBT activists do not intend to give up the fight.

“While the GOP’s official position on marriage equality is stale to most Americans, there is a growing movement within the party heading inexorably toward fairness,” said HRC president Chad Griffin in a press release. “This ad is proof that we’re not willing to leave any group of Americans behind in the national conversation over treating gay and lesbian couples with dignity and respect.”

  • Logan Lynn From Fundamentalism to Raunchy Rock Star

Logan LynnThe musician opens up about his eviction from fundamentalist church life, the drug abuse that nearly killed him, and how music saved him.

Indie rocker Logan Lynn’s life story is indeed a wild one. Somehow, a kid who grew up in a fundamentalist Christian church where even musical instruments were too secular to have around has developed into an innovative adult musician with a dirty-honest edge. “Turn Me Out,” the debut track off his upcoming fifth studio album, Tramp Stamps and Birthmarks, is blunt, raunchy, and fun. And people are turning in; the track quickly became a top 30 hit on iTunes, and audiences are eagerly awaiting the next single, “Do You Want Me,” scheduled to be released in September. Lynn chats with The Advocate about his eviction from fundamentalist church life, the drug use that almost killed him, and how music saved him.

The Advocate: What were you like as a kid?
Logan Lynn: I think I was pretty similar. I’m still pretty focused on love, family, and music. I’ve somehow managed to hold on to that in my adulthood.

What was your coming out experience like?
It was terrible. I’d been very depressed in high school. This religious upbringing had told me I was going to hell and was going to keep my eternal family from being together. I’d told one of my counselors about my early boyfriend I’d had and this particular counselor told my parents that I was gay and that I’d have to be removed from the church and sent to a boarding school in Tennessee the very next day. It was instant removal from my life. I fell full force into drug addiction for the next 15 years. I got clean in 2007 and have been clean ever since.

    How did you survive?
At first it was just me. I went out on my own. I had to start over and rewire my brain that had been fully brainwashed and figure out who I was. I wanted a relationship with my family, but they were still involved with the church for another 10 years. I’m lucky that my family has now left the church and have in many ways come around to be even more liberal than me.

  • Chick fil A Means Free Speech to Paul Ryan

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan is embracing the fried chicken restaurant chain whose founder recently admitted funding groups that oppose LGBT rights.

During a short and unconventional interview with WDBJ in Virginia, reporter Orlando Salinas asked Ryan what came to mind when he thought of Chick-fil-A.

“Good chicken,” Ryan replied. “Free people exercising their free speech rights.”

Reporter Orlando Salinas of TV station WDBJ in Roanoke, Va., played a bit of word association with Ryan during an interview that aired yesterday. When Salinas said, “Chick-fil-A,” Ryan replied, “Good chicken. Good chicken. Free people exercising their free speech rights.”

As LGBT rights advocates have pointed out, though, the outrage against Chick-fil-A isn’t just about company executives’ statements opposing marriage equality — it’s also about the fact that Chick-fil-A has donated millions of dollars to groups seeking to deny rights to LGBT people.

  • Tammy Baldwin Gets Support From Howard Dean

Tammy BaldwinA group founded by the former Vermont governor, presidential hopeful, and DNC chair endorses Baldwin’s effort at becoming the first openly gay U.S. senator.

Tammy Baldwin’s campaign to become the first openly gay U.S. senator is getting a boost from Howard Dean’s Democracy for America organization.

Baldwin and five other candidates will share $125,000 in donations and grassroots support from Democracy for America, the group announced today. Baldwin, a Democrat, has represented Wisconsin in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1999 and is now running for its vacant Senate seat.

The others endorsed today are Senate candidates Mazie Hirono of Hawaii and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and House hopefuls Annie Kuster of New Hampshire, Raul Ruiz of California, and Manan Trivedi of Pennsylvania. With six other endorsees announced earlier this month, they form the “Dean Dozen.” The candidates endorsed previously are Senate candidate Martin Heinrich of New Mexico and House nominees Kathy Boockvar of Pennsylvania, Jose Hernandez of California, Joe Miklosi of Colorado, Carol Shea-Porter of New Hampshire, and Shelli Yoder of Indiana.

“Since 2004, DFA has worked to identify 12 strong progressive candidates who have what it takes to win and are committed to moving the progressive agenda forward,” said Dean, a former Vermont governor, presidential candidate, and Democratic National Committee chairman. “The focus on candidates in these twelve races sends a clear signal that it is time to end the extreme right-wing stronghold that has blocked the progressive agenda at every turn.”

  • WATCH A New Clip for Lady Gagas Fragrance

LADY GAGAA new clip for Lady Gaga’s Fame perfume has emerged, featuring the star scratching what looks like caviar off a man’s face.

Lady Gaga treated her legion of Twitter followers to the first official photo of her debut fragrance, just after fashion bloggers began circulating an unofficial image of the bottle on the web.

Lady Gaga Fires Back at Madonna Over ‘Born This Way’ Mashup (Video)

Justin Bieber Releasing Second Fragrance: ‘Girlfriend’ “Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked,” Gaga tweeted, linking to the unofficial image. “Oh you fashion editors I could just crinkle my hands at you!”

The pop superstar followed up with an official promo for the fragrance, called FAME, which features an all black background to announce “the first ever black eau de parfum.” The scent was originally said to be named Monster and to include notes of semen and blood, but the new packaging reveals that FAME smells like “tears of the Belladonna.”

Crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops are all listed among the scent’s components. FAME is designed for women, but Gaga insists “a lot of my gay friends wear it” too.
Gaga will shill her new fragrance with an appropriately timed September Vogue cover – the mag’s biggest selling issue of the year. Louis Vuitton photographers Mert and Markus are said to have already shot the singer’s cover, which will mark the second time in two years that Gaga has graced the magazine with her presence.
